Bedfordshire detectorist to sell hundreds of treasure pieces found

Nettie Edmondson is auctioning off her collection of hundreds of items she has found over 20 years.

BBC News
@tess_machling someone who is truly interested in archeological artifacts and their history wouldn't go to auction.
If she needs the space why not donate her collection to a museum?
Why does the article give away her location? Wilsden is a small village. I hope that she doesn't suffer a burglary because that could lead to the rest of her collection being melted down and lost for ever.

@frantictdrinker @tess_machling She may need money too, but I am sure many museums would pay something for the collection.

But she seems to just want to cash in on it, irrespective of the real value of the items.

@tess_machling The good old "I love history" justification! Frantic is right, detectorists that truly love history donate their findings to institutions, also they tend to participate in official projects.
