JD Vance says Iran did not accept the US terms for a peace deal, which immediately shows why talks failed;

negotiation is seeking some middle way between opposing positions, but we know the Tangerine Tyrant's idea of a deal is to push for his solution regardless of the other side's interests or needs;

its no surprise that JD Vance has taken the same line: not so much the Iranians 'playing' the US as the US playing the world into thinking they are *actually* interested in 'peace'.

@ChrisMayLA6 The United States at this point should not be trusted with nuclear weapons.

My opinion is that folks here in the United States should start a movement to negotiate away our nuclear weapons. Hopefully there are people here humble and smart enough to do this. Even if it takes 20 years, we should credit the honorable people of Iran and their valiant stance against our imperialist war machine for inspiring us to start this movement.

@ChrisMayLA6 i don't think either side is willing to move, they have very maximalist demands they feel justified seeking, and both claim dominance, so can't agree to lesser terms.

@ChrisMayLA6 agreed, Vance was enthusiastically pushing for unconditional surrender of Ukrainians too so it's certainly no surprise he doesn't have the ability to negotiate anything other than that for the Iranians here either.
