@mf_analysis we basically get both the templar & illuminati ending from deus ex, invisible war. great. worst of everything.
@kali @mf_analysis It's more than that.

Palantir is basically an enabling tool for the authoritarian right's agenda.

It takes the mountains of data generated through surveillance capitalism, and sells it as a product for intelligence, law enforcement, and defence agencies.

If weaponises creepy tracking codes and location tracking apps, making it part of the government surveillance apparatus.

So all the ways enshittified tech companies track you become all the ways the government tracks you.

It says to authoritarian governments: We'll sell you a mass surveillance apparatus for a fee that makes the Stasi and KGB look like the EFF by comparison.

That data is being used right now to identify the people that ICE will snatch off the street.

These European bankers know all of this.

And they're saying: 'Yes, we will put our capital into this scheme as long as it makes us a profit.'

@aj And the bankers will continue to do that because they consider themselves safe from ever being on the 'bad' side of these mass surveillance systems. They're not the ones who are going to get picked up by ICE. They're not the targets. They're insulated from the negative bits. They can't fathom how they themselves could possibly be negatively affected.

So yeah. As long as it makes them money.
