This is my story, and the story of my sisters and cousins. Our lives were the product of abuse survival until we faced our demons in therapy. There's still some residue of course - this is a life-long process. But we did all decide independently to not have children, thus putting an end to the intergenerational trauma. Our parents' "legacy" ends with us. 👍
