Possible Measles Exposure Travelling out of Winnipeg

Published on 10 April 2026

Northwestern Health Unit (NWHU) is informing the public that a person with contagious measles travelled out of Winnipeg on March 28, 2026, through Toronto, and further on to Orlando Florida on March 29, 2026.

Since many people in Northwestern Ontario travel out of the Winnipeg airport, NWHU recommends checking the details (link below) to find out if you or your family may have been exposed, and what to do next. Measles can result in severe illness and long-term harm in some people, and controlling spread is crucial for protecting health.

@outbreak

If you are here in Manitoba, you should just assume that you WILL be exposed to measles.

I think the only solution is to mix the measles vaccine into Roundup so that everybody in the province gets vaccinated when it's time to start spraying.

@outbreak how about COVID exposures?

@jmcrookston

Shhhhhh! 🤫

Just like that public health unit article doesn't mention method of transmission, we don't talk about airborne viruses and that there's 100% chance there was also COVID in the hotel, at the airport, and on the flights.

@outbreak Oh yeah right it's a secret I forgot 😉
