During this year's "Games for blind gamers" jam on #itchIO, a #game was submitted that tried to accurately portray a #blind protagonist. This game was developed by a developer who is not blind, but believed to have done adequate research into this. Some people did not agree and came down on them rather hard, but I saw an opportunity.
In this video I break down what was represented well, what wasn't, and we get into some really interesting #blindness and #disability topics along the way. Hopefully it might teach a thing or two :) https://youtu.be/qE81d4Pcw9E

Blind Gamer Reacts to Blind Protagonist in Cane & Able: Accurate or Not?

@zersiax I'm curious if there's a way for you to submit feedback to the dev, so they can at least feel that not everyone is being hostile? You can also link the video if they wanted longer-form feedback.
@twynn I spoke to them over email first to ask for permission to use his content and essentially explained that viewpoint as well, he actually took it down but put it back up for me to make this so he's aware, thankfully :)
@zersiax Oh I am glad. I didn't find anything off about the game, but I'm not easily offended, and it's just a hodgepodge of various strategies used to navigate and interact with the inaccessible world around you. I thought it was a neat concept.
