After bank & pharmacy, I came across the free #TagSale folks in front of the 10th Ave clinic like before (I won’t use Meta so don’t see their invites on Facebook anymore).
They were breaking down & let me help. Two trips with the cart to donate around the corner.
Second trip was not too bad although much heavier, bc they were watching my coat scarf & purse.
They took my email so I can get word. Next one is *Sat morning May 2*, ends at noon I think. At the #clinic on 10th/ 46th. 2/?

Beautiful day. Got chow at the Amish, sat outside at the perfect table, got the Batman shadow signal on my bat-table.
Decided to get dessert next.
Sooo many choices - depends on how picked over Amy’s Bread is…
Decided on gelato.

Gelatoville does carry fruit base gelato, I was patient. For years I’d ask, & eventually got an employee who taught me what to ask for: fruit flavors w no almond milk (almost everything has that in it). These are virtually fat free.
They also have a child size (one flavor only, though), which they don’t advertise, only $6-something with tax. They had mango (slimy), raspberry (ick), pineapple (tasted weak), & strawberry, the winner.

Next, I came across a #Mamdani #pothole patrol! In the first picture, a man fills a pothole w asphalt from the truck while another sets up orange barrels. Then I missed him using a broom w super long bristles to sweep the asphalt over the hole & begin tamping it down. Next, he gets the watering can filled w liquid tar, while a third guy tamps down the #asphalt. As he pours tar around the outside edge, the truck starts moving! Poof they disappear, dragging barrels behind.
Quite the spectacle.

The next day the drummers returned!
Last time I waited too long and only got to hear them. Today I got to applaud - one of the moms looked at me when I yelled “Shit!” but not on a bad way.
Seems one male adult leading the cymbals group and the other leading the drummers.
Had no luck posting recordings so far, but I might try again.

There were three bass drums now three more baritone? drummers.

The tuned toms were in front for a while, now they’re on the sides. The cymbals and bass (& bari) drums are marching now, crossing each other, then back.
At the other end of the rectangle is the sole (female) drummer, on snare! (Teacher usually uses her snare to start off cadences.)
Some of the students trade spots, there aren’t enough cymbals or tuned toms. The others stand on the side and mark the part.
