I have, since their inception, found voice notes sent via text message incredibly detestable - but I only just now realized why.

I can’t play them back at 2x speed, and the only people that ever send them always do so because whatever it is they have to say is a long rambling story that they don’t want to type out.

I’m sure it COMPLETELY unrelated to the fact that the person that most often sends them is a sibling that can’t ever get to the fucking point.
