Totally interesting. The exact sweet spot between the old "depressive" The Cure ("One hundred years", "Cold") and the new much more playful The Cure ("The Walk". "Caterpillar").
I'm still impressed to hear so much tracks from their dark phase at this point in time; but I guess they simply hadn't enough new stuff ready yet: Why Can't I Be You is still in the future. On the other hand, Love Cats is missing, and that definitely was out already. Hmm. Playing with clichés then, ey?

@herr_irrtum well the pop singles were kind of a diversion by then (doing sth completely opposite and silly) since The Top album does not contain a pop single (ok maybe "caterpillar"). the setlist draws from all albums.

and don't forget that their first live album "concert" is from 1984 and all songs on that recording are here as well.

I agree: very interesting transition period from early cure to 80/90 cure.
