This week, I had the opportunity to stay 2 nights at the Pic du Midi #Observatory, in the french Pyrénées. I captured some #timelapse from this site, which is still magical.

I was astonished by the dynamism of this observatory: new domes, new #instruments, new projects and new buildings. #Research in #astronomy in the metropolitan #France is performing like a charm.

I fully support its application to the @unesco !

@AlexSanterne @unesco Unfortunately, don't expect this in Thriftstore Britain. UK plc can't even sort out a functional nuclear power station despite flailing about with privatised companies since they sold off the country's nuclear heritage in the 1980s. Along with anything else of value. Hey, but we pay lower taxes as a result ⬅️that's ironic, BTW.
