A $1.5 million roundabout from nowhere to nowhere shows the ‘Orbánist economy’

Ahead of a pivotal parliamentary election Sunday, opponents ask what Hungary has to show for vast sums of European Union funding brought in under Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

@smurthys You don't get much for a million dollars these days.
@smurthys talking heads are in the chat and they want their song back.

In any case, the roundabout is properly illuminated with sufficient lampposts!
Absurd cash burning with EU funds

@smurthys Wait a second, isn't EU the problem here? They said the railway would be built which is supposed to connect to the roundabout.

@smurthys Nevermind, that was just me trying cities skylines.

@smurthys

This is what it looked likefor the EU burocrats in the documentation for the request to disburse the final installment of the grant

@smurthys The EU in all of its bureaucratic, wasteful, neoliberal glory. Shit like this is how Boris and Farage won the #Brexit referendum.

@smurthys

For those of us that love cornering. I would doughnut the hell out of that thing.

@smurthys ah, now I see why our Vice President has to run off to stump for this guy
@smurthys Beautiful! Roundabouts are clearly the most efficient and sensible "x to nowhere" projects.
@smurthys another theft of funds intended to help develop the infrastructure of #hungary. Maybe in the bank account of #Orban ?
