@repeatro ohh boy difficult question cos it depends from what angle you looking it. most nostalgic, most influential, most enjoyed ? but a good question πŸ‘

@dylenar

True, it's definitely not easy and heavily depends on the personal perspective and interpretation of the question. I think the easiest way to answer this is to pick the option that comes to your mind first, without thinking about it too much.

@repeatro Agree :) but that's a nice mind exercise
@repeatro to be honest I've never been much into Nintendo IPs (I grew up as a SEGA kid) and would not miss any of them. Of course I played some titles in every single one of these franchises but the only game that I kind of fondly remember is Link's Awakening πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

@polygonien

Which of the Sega IPs would be your choice then?

@repeatro wow, that is a really tough question but also a weird one since basically all of the classic SEGA franchises except Sonic have been pretty much dead for quiet a while now. Streets of Rage is the one that crossed my mind first so I guess I should just go with that :D

@polygonien

Yeah, I would go with Shenmue in this case, I think.

@repeatro Shenmue is a very close second (Dreamcast is my favorite console by far) but I recently (about a year ago) played through the 3rd game and that was such a disappointment that I felt like SoR deserves it more. And since SEGA did not even want to publish the 3rd entry I'm not even sure anymore if we can still count it as a "true" SEGA franchise.

@polygonien

I already heard that Shenmue 3 isn't really good. I haven't played it yet. There was an enhanced version announced recently, also for Switch 2. I think I will give this one a try.

@repeatro Voted Metroid because it helped spawn one of my favorite (sub)genres of platformers.

@glennmagusharvey

Would have also been my choice, although I only have played a couple of Metroid games yet. They all have been a unique experience, while Metroid Dread is the game I chose as my first speedrun game.

@repeatro
voted Metroid because it's the least Nintendo of the bunch. doom up to doom 3 is probably the most important franchise to me.

@hobbs

Agree, but have you played Prime 4 yet? πŸ˜‰

@repeatro i haven't played anything past the 3DS title. my switch collects dust. it just never appealed to me. :/

@hobbs

If you ever want to give the Switch Metroid a try, Dread is great, Prime 4 not.

@repeatro have you streamed it? i think i recall watching you play dread.

@hobbs

Yeah, I am speedrunning Dread.
