Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen has now travelled around the moon, but he earned his wings in Manitoba, doing basic training with the Royal Canadian Air Force at the Southport Aerospace Centre, about 75 kilometres west of Winnipeg, starting in the late 1990s.
