Many countries promote their culture by putting their best films online for free.
Goethe-Onleihe: Access over 100 German films (classics & contemporary) via the Goethe-Institut. You need a free "Mein Goethe.de" account. 🇩🇪
Korean Classic Film (YouTube): Hundreds of restored Korean masterpieces from the 1930s onwards, all with English subtitles. 🇰🇷
MyFrenchFilmFestival: An annual festival (usually Jan-Feb) that lets you stream new French indie cinema for free, or a tiny fee. 🇫🇷

Arte.tv: Their "Cinema" section features auteur films and award-winning documentaries in high definition.
National Film Board of Canada (NFB): One of the best sites on the internet for world-class documentaries and experimental animation. 🇨🇦

For those who love the "golden age" and silent films:
• WikiFlix: browse public domain films hosted on Wikimedia Commons.
• Internet Archive: you know that, it's like the wild west of cinema. Everything from film noir to silent expressionism is parked here for eternity. Might need a good digging attitude.
