I had a lot of fun yesterday talking about the Artemis II mission, some of its #science efforts, and the value of exploration and science with "Morning North" host Markus Schwabe. I am very grateful to my colleagues at @snolabscience.bsky.social for the chance to meet with Markus and discuss this moment in the space program as the Artemis II crew prepare to return to mother Earth.

@snolabscience.bsky.social Fun fact: although the quote about "someday ... you shall tax it" is often attributed to Michael Faraday, there is little evidence of any reasonable kind that he said it. But it's a good quote, and a good story, and it has a message in it: people often question the value of a thing because they don't see the value from the present perspective. But humans define value, and who can anticipate what we will value in 10, 50, or 100 years?
