But I don't see a huge ethical distance between implementation and making the tools for implementation, since you mentioned it.
Put it this way. If the birthDate field had been a politicalParty field, would you think there was a big difference between that and implementing OS political tracking?
Edit to Add: it's a step towards acquiesce, is my point. I don't like it, and splitting hairs doesn't make it sound better.
