Cat Fosters, Rescuers, cat people, if you feel like watching a live birth of kittens, tune in right meow to:
LIVE KittenWatch: Rise of the Catermelons

Pregnant feral rescue cat "Smudge" (at Tinykittens HQ in Canada) is in labor at the moment, and giving birth to her final litter of kittens (before they're all spayed/neutered too) -- live on their Youtube stream!

The ongoing voiceover of rescuer Shelly Roche of TK is especially interesting to folks involved in cat rescue and cat fostering, for she talks about bloodtyping the kittens right after birth, to prevent a fatal condition called Neonatal Isoerythrolysis in the newborns.
This is caused by a mismatch of bloodtype of mama and kittens.

PSA: Type A blood cat moms can nurse both Type A & B kittens.
Type B moms can't nurse Type A kittens for the first 24 hrs (kittens would die from mismatch), after that it's OK and kittens can be returned to the momcat.

This is called neonatal isoerythrolysis,
due to mom's antibodies.

@Lojie Cat moms are amazing! Thanks for sharing 😽
@Lojie I was watching until #4 was discovered. Still don't know when it was born. I felt so bad for Smudge when #3 was born.
