In the midst of his #exhortations to the Corinthian #Christians, #Paul set forth the #theological and #Christological basis for #giving.
We do well to remember how "grace" can mean "gift".
The grace, or gift, of God in Christ involved Jesus giving up His great wealth in order to become poor so all who might trust in Him may obtain the wealth of eternal life and the blessings which come from God.
The gift was not given to be hoarded but to be shared: Christians are called upon to participate in the grace of God by giving to others according to what God has given to them.
We must prove willing to become impoverished (to some degree or another) so others might be made richer (again, to some degree or another) if we would truly follow and exemplify Jesus the Christ.
