I acknowledge the #FuelProtest is in response to legitimate concerns BUT the scale of organisation and speed of escalation, including the blockading of national infrastructure makes me wonder if there might be #AgentsProvocateurs at work. #Russia? #Iran?
@ben It's the same people that organised the anti-immigrant protests at IPAS centres. They may or may not be supported by foreign elements but they're definitely not to be trusted.

@ben I think occam's razor still lands firmly on incompetence. But there is definitely an element of the right wing trying to take it over, of course, and escalate it.

They don't seem to understand the norms of protests. Yes, you should be disruptive, but it has to be proportionate. You have to know the full picture. It's why healthcare workers strikes are so carefully managed. These people aren't getting that.

My worry is this will be used by gov't to put restrictions on protest.

@ben it's the usual rabble rouser highjacking and escalating the legitimate concerns. This is now an anti establishment thing. See analysis here: #FuelprotestsIreland) don’t “go viral” by accident.
