Preamble:
"In this episode, Legal AF’s Ray Brescia talks to Lisa Landau and Emerson Argueta from the Feerick Center for Social Justice at Fordham Law School. Landau and Argueta report on their recent visit to the now-notorious Camp East Montana detention facility in El Paso, Texas, the largest detention facility in the country which was built on the site of an internment camp used during World War II to hold Japanese Americans during that conflict. Landau and Argueta describe the horrific conditions in the camp—from denials of desperately needed medical care to guards physically abusing detainees. They are trying to shine a light on such conditions in these and other sites in order to raise awareness about the need for Congressional oversight and legal interventions to improve the treatment of the roughly 70,000 individuals currently being held in ICE detention facilities throughout the U.S."
