A senior Iranian official involved in the discussions told Reuters Tehran could open the #StraitOfHormuz Thursday or Friday ahead of planned peace talks in Pakistan, if a framework for the #ceasefire is agreed.

#Iran state media reported the first ship had passed through the Strait since the ceasefire with Iran's permission.

By Wednesday afternoon, the #US & #Israel appeared to be abiding by their promise to pause their air campaign on Iran.

#US Secretary of #Defense Pete #Hegseth said the US had had a "decisive military victory" in its operation against #Iran.

"Iran's air force has been wiped out. Iran no longer has an air defense, any sort of a comprehensive air defense system. We own their skies. Their missile program is functionally destroyed. Launchers, production facilities & existing stockpiles depleted & decimated & almost completely ineffective," he said [but he’s not a credible source].

#Hegseth said 800 strikes on Tuesday night had destroyed Iran's industrial base.

"(#Iran) can no longer build missiles, build rockets, build launchers, or build UAVs. Their factories have been razed to the ground."

Hegseth added the #US had used less than 10% of its combat power in its war against Iran.

Lies, damn lies, and statistics. I'm sure that 10% can genuinely be arrived at if we count all matériel across the entire military (all ships, ground vehicles, etc.) but as you pointed out, it's probably much worse than 10% in specific areas. Having 10 aircraft carriers in reserve is no use if you're out of missiles.
