I often wonder who's been worse for the UK overall, Thatcher or the parade of self serving kleptocrats of more recent years. Farage and Johnson caused untold damage between them, and Farage may yet cause much more, but, honestly, they're just natural byproducts of Thatcher's project. She was the root cause, and all these sneering clowns who followed her are just minor characters in her play. She may be dead but the wounds she left us still bleed.
Let's make today the day when we grab a stake and check on her grave, just to be sure.

@bodil yeah, I mean don't get me wrong I disagree with pretty much everything Thatcher stood for, but at least she did stand for something, and quite probably believed she was ‘doing the right thing’ even as it needlessly shattered community after community for generations.
These others? It's all just greed and grift.
@bodil @jonpsp
Yeats said it pretty well:
"The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity."

I caught myself singing this chorus recently, due to the current events:

The Day After You - The Blow Monkeys (feat. Curtis Mayfield)
which was written about Thatcher. I think it got even more radio play after the BBC had banned it. It's from this album https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/She_Was_Only_a_Grocer%27s_Daughter (and that's what she was)
As for a post-Drumpf song, I reckon audio of toilets flushing ought to be enough.

Beware the March of Trumps …
I always refer to her as - Myopic Maggie.
We utterly detested her. The first female PM this country got and it had to be a nasty one.

Looking forward to remembering Trump in the same way!
I'm really looking forward to celebrating [Unalive] Trump Day. No doubt, so is most of the world.
@bodil Are we sure she's still dead? Wouldn't put it past that monster, let's go make sure that corpse is still in the ground. 🤭
I wish USians had the sense to celebrate similarly when Reagan finally kicked the bucket. Maybe we should start celebrating?
