Let’s be crystal clear: This war never should have started, and Congress cannot allow Trump to continue on this horrifying path of escalation. While we’re relieved Trump has walked back his threats of genocidal war crimes from this morning, words are not enough. https://www.yahoo.com/news/world/article/trump-agrees-to-two-week-ceasefire-deal-with-iran-after-threatening-to-wipe-out-its-whole-civilization-how-we-got-here-and-what-could-happen-next-193210369.html

Americans, Iranians, and people around the world deserve real assurance that their lives won’t be thrown into chaos because a reckless president wakes up and posts a stream of threats on Truth Social.

This war is killing civilians in Iran and across the region, and its consequences are being felt here at home. This isn’t just a foreign policy disaster — it’s an economic one. A wider war will drive up costs and make everyday life harder for working people.

Our tax dollars should go to healthcare and schools, not bombs that kill Iranian children.

The Constitution is clear: The power to declare war belongs to Congress. Those checks and balances exist for a reason — to stop exactly this kind of reckless escalation. Trump does not get to drag us deeper into war by decree. No Member of Congress should trust any ‘ceasefire’ announced by Trump on social media — they must do their duty to end this war themselves.

Congress must act immediately before Trump can do more damage. Mike Johnson and John Thune must do their jobs and reconvene Congress. They do not get to continue recess as normal. It is time to act. Congress needs to use every tool available to stop this illegal, catastrophic war from spiraling further — starting with passing a War Powers Resolution.

@indivisibleteam #MikeJohnson won't do anything against those who hold his #CovenantEyes history. A quorum of the rest of the House must convene without him, pass a motion to vacate the speakership, and elect a new Speaker.

Whatever it takes, but the best scenario is that the GOP get this done themselves.
Removes the whole "it was just partisan" monologue, which would then be used as a weapon

I want the congressional leadership to do the job they swore an oath to perform.
