@nextcloud My NC account doesn't include File Drop so I typically use SkySend, NowTransfer or similar 😁

@nextcloud

NC _and_ some own Hompage with a little php.

@nextcloud depends on the size of file, but genrally icloud mail drop
@nextcloud LocalSend and SwissTransfer
@nextcloud
Mostly messengers, whatever the recipent supports.
Probably not what you wanted to hear, I guess... 😅
@nextcloud swisstransfert most of the time is the file is not already on a cloud (too big to be stored online)
Wormhole - Simple, private file sharing

Wormhole lets you share files with end-to-end encryption and a link that automatically expires.

Wormhole
@nextcloud I scp it to a webserver and go "here's a direct link" :P
@nextcloud USB drive 🤷‍♂️
@nextcloud Wormhole, Warp, LocalSend, ProtonDrive
@nextcloud lately #tailscale 's taildrive, though it's experimental, I find it extremely convenient. I wish there was smoother integration with Android and Linux, like with the few iOS devices that I still have.
@nextcloud If I share my files, it's usually through my Proton Drive. But I still have a bunch of stuff in my Google Drive that I share too.
@nextcloud ShareX to a webserver. NC has its place, but when it comes to "just sharing files", it's a bloated mess that gets in the way of itself. I shouldn't need 111 requests and 4.55MB of data-transfer to grab a 400kB file.
@nextcloud either LocalSend or Telegram (saved messages chat)
A bit of a weird one, but gets the job done
@nextcloud
Damn it. I'm wrong... it's Nextcloud I use 😅
A fork of Mozillas Send: https://send.vis.ee
Send

Encrypt and send files with a link that automatically expires to ensure your important documents don’t stay online forever.

@nextcloud for single files: at the moment it's swisstransfer.

For collaboration it's proton drive.

Even tho I use NC, but it's just a local instance.

@nextcloud prefer Signal where its possible
@nextcloud your audience is biased, only freedom loving and/or nerds occupy this space
@Torx This is by no means an official survey. We just like to connect with our community and learn more about the tools they use! And there have been some interesting insights in these comments.

@nextcloud An instance of Mozilla Send.

@nextcloud Sharing files with my other devices, I do use Signal actually. Also, I use Telegram with some of my contacts because it's possible to share bigger files.
@nextcloud Google drive but only because my work/school it using
@Rynux Hopefully they'll switch to a privacy-first solution at some point!
@nextcloud yes but for them it is so complicated and mainly they don't have any servers...
@Nextcloud 📱☁️💻 If I needed one, I'd probably use the very same Hubzilla channel that I'm commenting from right now.

#Hubzilla
Hubzilla Fediverse Server and Community

@nextcloud
OneDrive at work, Proton Drive personally, and sometimes OnionShare.

@nextcloud For syncing files across devices, I use @syncthing. For strangers, I lean toward OnionShare. Work-wise, it's either @CryptPad or @signalapp.

Might also test out Nextcloud File Drop since I already run a self-hosted Nextcloud. Worth a try!
