Does anyone know what causes these star-like patterns? They look different from radial shakes and medullary rays and whatnot. I've noticed these #patterns on many #logs in the Thuringian Forest. 🤔

Danke!! Manchmal kann es so einfach sein. 🙈 Ich habe mich gewundert, warum es so gleichmäßig aussieht, aber dass Äste wie ein Kranz alle auf einer Höhe liegen, ist bei manchen Bäumen ja nichts Ungewöhnliches
