After nearly 3 month in the making, my current project is "finished" (there is still a lot to improve), so here is another #notQuiteWeekly projects update.

I build a lamp, inspired by a flower blossom, made from plywood with 3D printed parts. I designed the project in #OpenSCAD and printed out templates to use with a router to cut out the parts. 🧵

It has a ring of LED strips pointing towards the ceiling and a center panel providing the main lights. I built a mechanism inside that open up the lamp using a servomotor.

For control, I use #esphome, though I will probably switch to using arduino-esp32, which provides matter support.

Overall, I am very happy with the result.

@AberDerBart do you plan to share the blueprints on thingiverse or anything?

with additional coloured leds, this would be a perfect substitute to my shitty lolasmart lamp

@schaf I plan to release the files, but they need some cleanup work first, so it will probably take a few weeks (feel free to poke me to do this, it is more of a motivation thing than an available time thing)
