This morning, JD Vance arrives in Budapest, Hungary, in an attempt to save Viktor Orbán from the Hungarian people voting him out of office on sunday.

I doubt this will work. No European leader is as corrupt as Orbán, and the polls show the Hungarians have had it.

@randahl This is obvious ingerence in another country politics, it shall not be tolerated.
@randahl
Viktor Orbán is history, and not a good one.
@randahl fingers crossed, he is voted out with a wide margin and no option other than to concede.🤞
@randahl
Viktor Orban should serve as a lesson for the Germans regarding their AfD.
@randahl Hungarian: “The Hillbilly Elegy guy? Coming here? Fuck that guy.”

@randahl

Agree that Vance will have if anything a negative impact on Orban's electoral success.

That said, we here in the US need to pay close attention to whatever fuckery Orban, his Party and core supporters attempt in order to hold onto power as it is near certain Trump and his cult will do the same and more/worse come November and beyond.

@randahl Do you think he will give up if he loses?
@randahl Hungary lock up your furniture stores!!
@blustoftimes @randahl lock up your daughters, lock up your wives, lock up your sofa and run for your life!
@randahl may it be the start of the authoritarians getting the boot everywhere!
@randahl I hope it does not work, but the europeans did proof the last years, that they vote as stupid a the US
@randahl I'm not aware of any European country, where Vance is popular. Perhaps in Hungary?
@randahl surely if the Trump administration wanted to help Orban and had a clue about it, they’d loudly, effusively praise his opponents and thus attempt to slime them by association
@randahl The very idea that adding Jud! Vance to the mix somehow would increase Orbáns luck (yes, polularity polls are games of chance) baffles me. More like a nail in the coffin kinda guy.
@randahl Hah. If Orban wanted to lose he couldn’t have picked better: He’s got Russia AND Vance, the two most unpopular characters on the European political scene! 🙂
@gimulnautti @randahl His alignment to Russia and other bloody-handed dictators has never been a deterrent for his fans.

@randahl

Shameless… this will further lower the trust of Europeans in the USA…

Bunch of backstabbing traitors.

Despicable!

@randahl Very good example of how corrupt US politics are.
@randahl I think there is also a big misalignment, even if Orbán positions himself as a defender of Christianity, the “Catholicism” JD Vance is peddling is very foreign in Europe.
@randahl So the deputy of the guy everyone hates is going to Hungary to help the guy most Hungarians hate. That should work.
@jackyan @randahl And the deputy was never that popular himself, although maybe ignert Uropians haven't heard about that yet.
@randahl Waking up post election days in the past two decades or so, I have been disappointed in the state of the world. So I am pessimistic.
Polls do not mean much if the incumbent dictator has his henchmen on every institution to help him win. People are being heavily influenced by media, which he and his family and friends own. And if he loses, he can still declare, with his media outlets, that the election is stolen.
What will happen next is more important: Will the people accept this and will any protest amount to insignificance and fizzle out? Like russia or the us?
Or will they follow the example of past revolutions?

@randahl

Out #OrbanExit EU wide the extreme rights are loosing and their populists speech is no longer believed see NL and Denmark..

@randahl

Is Vance popular in Hungary? I mean, he behaves as if he thinks so.

@hadon @randahl
Vance strikes me as one of those people who’s never been popular, but desperately wants to be, which is why it was so easy for Peter Thiel to manipulate him.
@randahl If things are so bad for you that you believe Mr Furniture Fucker is going to save you, then guess what else is about to get fucked #fuckfascism #fuckjdvance #fucktrump
@randahl Famously, Europeans LOVE american politicians telling them what to do...
@implementcontrols @randahl Oh they do the moment the Dear Leader tells them to.

@randahl

Does anyone in Hungary like JD Vance who wasn't already going to vote for Orbán?

@randahl Maybe instead, they'll talk some sense into vance-the-void?
@randahl doubt Shady Vance has a lot of extra appeal for Hungarians. People who are low-info-enough to vote FiDeSz hardly know who he is.
