RAM crisis? Not for me! I have 18MB! #Amiga3000T #RetroComputing #VintageComputing
@janbeta I was about to ask if you fixed the PSU or replaced it with an ATX, but I can wait until the video is uploaded to find out which way you went! πŸ˜…
@janbeta thinking about Adrian and his Rammy... Must be worth millions now.
@janbeta RAM is probably equal footing price-wise compared to when 128mb was king in this bad boy lol
@janbeta
It's 1994 and my first Pentium has just arrived from Dell. It has 16MB RAM. My roommate is amazed and suggests I partition half of it to build a RAM-Disk. πŸ˜…

@janbeta

It will probably never ask you for your age bracket or date of birth either πŸ˜‰

@simonzerafa I sure hope so! πŸ˜…

@janbeta I've been wanting to tell you this: I think a real CRT would look much better in your videos...

...if you can figure out a way to film it without rolling shutter artifacts. Some YouTubers do use CRTs, so it's certainly possible with the right camera settings.

@codewiz @janbeta Could you imagine the amount of space a CRT would take up? Heavy too.
@ann3nova @codewiz I do have a really nice Sony PVM just next to my usual work area, so it would be possible. The PVM needs a bit of TLC before I dare using it regularly though (and these beast are rather complex inside).
@codewiz I rarely use CRTs in the videos because apart from having to adjust the camera I always have to edit the audio to cut the high frequencies, too. It’s quite a bit of effort doing it so I usually just film a more modern screen during testing stuff. I do use CRTs for "serious" stuff (well, mostly playing games) off camera, though. Maybe I’ll try to film CRTs more often in the future though. Just needs a bit of getting used to and making some easy to access presets, I guess. πŸ“Ί
@janbeta p0ser ;) 1mb is enough for my a500
@janbeta 16mb in my 4000 and can sit pretty roomy with that. About the only time I have any real problems is when renewing a complex scene in lightwave.

@janbeta

The first personal computer I touched was owned by a friend's family was a TRS 80 with the 4k memory upgrade.
