It is bad but it is not the end unless we decide to not fight.
That is part of it, but fighting is also about creating social pushback. When we’re loud, bring attention to these changes, and refuse to accept them as the new normal, we change the math for them. Google needs to know that locking down Android is a PR disaster that drives their loyal users and developers away.

There are multiple Ways.
Some People will buy a Fairphone with /e/OS.
Some People will use their other Computers more — Desktop, Laptop, Gaming Handheld (yes, there’s Gaming Handhelds with a full Linux Desktop), single‑Chip Computers (like Raspberry Pi).
And multiple Entities will ramp up Development of “Android Translation Layer” (yes, it doesn’t have a catchy Name), so that Linux Phones can run all the Android Apps that People would otherwise miss.
@spaceKite Many Banking Apps ask the “Play Integrity API” wether they should function on the current Device.
But the Play Integrity API doesn’t answer how secure the Device is.
It answers how much the installed Android System is Google‑approved.
There’s a “Play Inteprity Fix” Module that can spoof full Device Integrity.
It’s only usable for tech‑savvy People
but it’s the first Step.
