This comment sums up why I’m so tired of programming in 2026 pretty well

@tilton I feel like this has been going on for a very long time now. OOP, <something driven design>, some web thing, CORBA, etc. Some are useful, some are forgotten, but the levels of evangelism makes religions green with envy.

Same with the dot com bubble. I think it never burst. I just changes names and keeps inflating. Occasionally making a lot of people poorer.

The difference is that it has intensified beyond comprehension fueled by the idiot rich and MBAs.

Absolutely agree, the focus should be on what is solved, not the tech. The tech is a hobby. Not work. It’s a means to an end.

And new tools need time to cook and be figured out. Not slammed into people’s faces. Especially if it’s crazy ones.
