Apple & Google become gatekeepers. "Your" device will be constantly monitored - for "compliance". "And you will be happy".

@jonsnow Governments abdicating their responsibilities to private corporations is the centre square on almost all dystopian bingo cards.
(note, I'm not just talking about contracting to private corporations to perform a task, I'm talking about giving the private corporation total control over the task everything related to it. They're not just paving a road on behalf of the government, they're using their own toll booths and police departments to decide who's allowed to use the road and how.)
