Così Giorgia Meloni in un video postato sui social, rivendica il viaggio nel Golfo Persico. La premier ha visitato tre paesi in poco più di 24 ore, per una missione sì politica ma anche dal risvolto economico.
“Quando nel Golfo cresce l’instabilità ne risentono anche i costi dell’energia – spiega la premier nel video – le imprese, il lavoro e in ultima istanza il potere di acquisto delle famiglie. Il Golfo è attore fondamentale del mercato energetico mondiale e se qui la produzione si contrae o si ferma il prezzo aumenta per tutti e se peggiora si può arrivare a non avere tutta l’energia necessaria, anche in Italia“.
“Il solo Qatar copre il 10% del fabbisogno italiano di gas e l’area del golfo garantisce il 15% del totale del petrolio che ci serve – prosegue ancora – Per questo sono qui”.
E conclude: “In un momento come questo, in un Mondo più instabile, proteggere l’interesse nazionale significa anche e soprattutto costruire relazioni solide con partner affidabili nei luoghi che incidono davvero sulla nostra sicurezza ed economia”.
Meloni dopo la prima tappa in Arabia Saudita ha fatto scalo prima in Qatar, poi negli Emirati Arabi Uniti. Sia a Gedda che poi a Doha e Al Ain, la premier ha approfondito il dossier legato alla guerra in Iran, con un focus particolare sullo Stretto di Hormuz.

The premier visited three countries in just over 24 hours, for a mission that was both political and economically driven.
“When instability grows in the Gulf, it also affects energy costs – the premier explains in the video – impacting businesses, jobs, and ultimately, household purchasing power. The Gulf is a fundamental player in the global energy market, and if production shrinks or stops here, the price will increase for everyone, and if it worsens, we could end up without all the energy we need, even in Italy.”
“Just the Qatar covers 10% of Italy’s gas needs and this area guarantees 15% of the total oil we require – she continues – That’s why I’m here.”
And she concludes: “In a time like this, in a more unstable world, protecting national interest also means and above all, building strong relationships with reliable partners in places that truly impact our security and economy.”
Meloni, after her first stop in Saudi Arabia, made a stopover in Qatar, then the United Arab Emirates. At Jeddah, then Doha and Al Ain, the premier deepened the dossier related to the war in Iran, with a particular focus on the Strait of Hormuz.
