There’s a longer and more well thought out piece to be written here, but I’ll start with a simple summary: Subscription revenue is an addictive drug for businesses. Whether we’re dealing with an #MSP, #IaaS, #SaaS, #AI, or service agreements on hardware, the folks selling it will do everything they can to ensure that we’re invested to the point where it’s an order of magnitude harder to leave than it is to stay.
This has some serious implications for data sovereignty.
