The animals need us to return to the land, spreading seeds and spores like our ancestors did.
Without the forests, our carbon and water cycles are disrupted, and the weather gets worse, and more unpredictable the further we let it all slide.
Soon the caps will melt, and the lack of compressive pressure at the poles will cause the tectonic plates to shift in response. Some land masses will rise, others will sink. With more surface water, the shifting plates will cause tsunamis.
