Since its #Caturday, throwing out a question -- Has anyone managed the intersection of #CKD (Kidney disease) and #CDS (feline dementia) with their senior indoor cats?

And outside of the usual vet reccos, are there any specific supplements or behavior patterns that improved their quality of life, anxiety, night panic etc.?

@sarahf @moelassus My experience with kidney disease - they get really cold. Make sure they have plenty of places to be warm, like crawling into a pillowcase. My vet did not suggest any supplements other than the specially formulated food.
@akamran @moelassus Yes! We have noticed that too, and got him a heating pad and given ample closet access.
@sarahf Our cat just turned 19. The vet said her kidneys were at 10% function and she only had a couple months to live. That was last summer. She drinks water all the time, and I feed her Sheba “gravy indulgence” capsules. Seems to be working.
@Virginicus Oh what a great thing to hear!! ❤️ Hope she keeps at it! Do you give the Sheba chicken or the fishy flavours? Everyone advises against protein, but my fellow dislikes fish.
(And did you add pronefra or any other gut powders to the food?)
