Brown #centipede friend by our composting area. These are fab creatures to have around exterior of home/gardens πŸ’šπŸ‘©β€πŸŒΎπŸ™‚πŸ‘

Slugs, worms, spiders & flies make up the bulk of their diet. Their leg count will top out at 15 pairs when fully grown.πŸ˜€
They don’t eat plants, but they'll eat things that eat your plants! Centipedes are β€œGardener’s Friend.”

@PhoenixSerenity What a beautiful photo. 🀩
@regendans
Thanks. It's not the best of my photos but it shows the full body & antennae well πŸ™‚

"...they'll eat things that eat your plants..."

I did not know that!

@scandigonian Now, you do πŸ˜€
@PhoenixSerenity
Haha! I have always let them have their space but have had a slight fear of them from my younger days living in Hawai'i where the centipedes are HUGE and FAST.
@scandigonian @PhoenixSerenity this might be due to the difference between Lithobius (shown in the picture), which is quiete harmless and Scolopendra (which have 21 locomotive legs) and can be somehow unpleasent and venomous, but still have their place in the ecosystem.
