whaaaat?

when did TQSL from ARRL become available on Linux?

did I miss this last time I had to renew my certificate? 😮

TQSL Download

The American Radio Relay League (ARRL) is the national association for amateur radio, connecting hams around the U.S. with news, information and resources.

now, the trick is going to be, will I remember that #TQSL is available on #Linux in 3 years when I renew again? 😂
@k8vsy make an entry to your calendar

@ei8kd that's a good idea! I will 🙂

thank you!

@k8vsy it's been a number of years anyway - at least as long as I've been daily driving Linux, which is probably at least 10 years

@N3VEM @k8vsy It's available as a flatpak, no less, which is super convenient:

@scott @N3VEM hot diggity! this is amazing 😍

I must have missed this last time I renewed, lol

@k8vsy @scott @N3VEM

It's also in the Debian package system, so I guess to your first question: quite a while.

@IrrationalMethod @scott @N3VEM wow!

I must have missed the memo when I renewed last time, lol

@scott @N3VEM @k8vsy I'm glad it's not limited to flatpak though; I have it on my wavelog server so I don't have to remember how to use tsql most of the time 😀

@mcdanlj @scott @N3VEM

I just tried the flatpack and it seemed buggy on Ubuntu 25.10, not every button was allowing a click, hmm

but I ended up compiling it real quickly, and that seems to be working a lot better!

thank you all ❤️

@k8vsy That sparked my curiosity. The oldest file in tqsl.tgz from Sourceforge is 2001-03-06.

@ly2ss whoa, wow!

I'm impressed! and happy to see it 🙂

I wish I would have looked harder when I renewed last time, lol

@k8vsy I only recently started using TQSL and being an old database user I can't stop my fingers typing TSQL. Duh!
@G8GDS hehe, I do have to pause sometimes too, to make sure I have the right name of the software (I've taken classes where we learned about TSQL)
