Paper Moon

I saw this jacket in Emily in Paris, I think it's a Louis Vuitton and it's somewhat outside my budget but I want to make one similar. Just looking for fabric now. Chequers look very inspiring. Has anyone seen fabric similar to this I could buy in Europe?

You could try to draw something like this with fabric pens/colour onto a white jacket? Some of the shapes are not regular, or even slimmer. And the blocks of colour don't look solid. I bet that you could ape this with pens quite well.
Sorry I don't know what it takes to fix painted on colour. (Is fix the right word? I mean make permanent)

You could even draw it so the lines of the pattern at the sleeve heads continue over the seam onto the body (drawing onto the finished jacket). I think that would long great.
And you can add the red bits if you wanted. Is that text?

@Giselle This is not at all a bad idea (I mean, it's a very good idea). This way the pattern will match. I know that fabric markers are a thing and I don't believe you have to additionally treat the fabric after the application, but I'll check. I think I'll be tempted to customise the design a bit.

I only noticed later that the text in red is the brand name, I totally assumed it was some other kind of thing, don't know what.
