I study Muay Thai & boxing 3 nights/week. A dude dressed as a furry walked into last Wednesday's class. He participated in the entire class dressed as a furry.

The others laughed. Me, not so much.

Why?

I studied Shotokan karate in the early 1980s. All of the instructors & most of the students were cops, steel workers, and/or Vietnam vets. If a dude in full-on furry regalia walked into that dojo? Man-oh-man. Nobody would've laughed.

To be clear, I have no problem with furries in general. Not my thing, but you do you. Everybody has the right to live the life they want so long as they don't hurt others. But decorum is important in certain contexts, and (IMOHO) a martial arts class is one of them. Unless, of course, the class topic is "Defense Against the Furries."
