I'm impressed with what affordable 3D scanners can do. The height of the text on the arms is around 5 mm, and the indentations is far sub-millimeter; and yet the scanner captures it in detail. The quoted resolution of the scanner, a Creality Otter, is 0.02 mm, and it delivers. This figure was definitely not an easy scan, being reflective black. #3dprint #3dscan #NSFW
My next move is to 3D-print it with bronze filament that I'll treat with "patina paste" to turn the result into a traditional "green bronze" figure within days. I'm going with Protopasta's bronze filament, which is getting good reviews but unfortunately needs to be shipped from their US store.
