Made some bean chili. I wanted to make it pretty hot, but I accidentally dumped in a whole bunch of cayenne pepper and thought it would be not that bad. Well it is still edible so that's at least something

For chili I love starting with dried whole chiles, blending them with garlic & stock after they've rehydrated. The mucilage of the chili remains intact when it's dried whole, so when it rehydrates it forms a thickening agent and it has an incredible colour.
