After the chardet bullshit, I'm seeing a rising trickle of use of the term "clean room re-implementation" referring to "AI" slop output from a prompt to rewrite some open-source code.

It ain't a clean room rewrite; that has a very specific meaning.

We need a new term for this kind of LLM-enabled license-washing. Suggestions?

@cazabon Maybe "code laundering" by analogy with "money laundering". It evokes an attempt to hide illegal activity via a legitimate-sounding front.
