Speaking of beer, there's an article in the #CAMRA magazine about #CaskAle in the #USA name-checking Portland, Brooklyn, Georgia and Arizona. I'd love to hear how visible this is in real life to the discerning beer drinkers on the Fediverse
@sborrill I live in Colorado with a half-dozen artisanal microbreweries within easy stumbling distance and am a brewer myself. I'm glad to see that the US seems (around here at least) to be wrapping up both its hop-to-the-max and barrel-aged crazes and be embracing the more subtle beers. It's exciting to see some interesting fusions come out recently.
@c_dan4th #TIL that, in particular, millennials and Gen Z are "alcohol-fluid" meaning they move between low/no and alcoholic and like that #CaskAle tends to be lower in ABV, but highly drinkable even as it warms up so they can drink slower. No mention of Colorado in this article unfortunately
@sborrill I think Colorado's time as a beer trendsetter has passed. And that's fine with me. It's sad to see good breweries closing, but it was always a bubble.
