#repair on the bench next is this older Garmin Vivoactive. It stopped working after a hot tub session. Upon opening evidence of moisture ingress, so I have dismantled and will let it dry out for a couple of days before looking more in depth for issues. #garmin #koolWatchRepairs #repaircafe #fixes #ReduceRepairReuseRecycle #aberdeenshire

@twoowls73 Was it IN or just NEAR the hot tub? The latter could mean real trouble for these devices in warm/wet climates

@LukefromDC it was in the hot tub. This particular device has been used for swimming, lots of rain soaked hikes and running, and hadn’t (until now) suffered any ingress.

It is still operational, fortunately at this moment the only issue is that the buttons are intermittent in operation.

Once I’ve dried it and tested it, it should be good to reseal and return. At worst it looks like it may need the internal pcb mounted switches replaced, and I have stock of those.
