It's not my style to post or spoil movie endings, but when it comes to Brief Encounter I do as I please to highlight this masterpiece of the British stiff upper lip-class. (Lean, 1945)
Cinema usually does not need 30 cuts/minute, a grit-McGuffin will do just fine to move the story and the audience. (mind the expressive b/w and at first sight tranquil camerawork)

Brief Encounter (final scene)

Critic wrote of her (1934) "Celia Johnson, with her tall and slender elegance, her lovely spaniel eyes, her quick sympathy, her lively intelligence, her humour and her wistfulness, is the Modern Girl at her most gracious"
@IngridHbn This sounds really neat! Now have it on my wish list to watch soon.
@AncTreat5358 amazing, really curious about what'll you'll think of it...
@IngridHbn I'll try to remember to write you after I watch it!
@AncTreat5358 great! I have the Lean box with Brief encounter in it, but you can find it elsewhere too.
@IngridHbn I'm afraid I can only do streaming, no physical media, but I did find it for rent or purchase via Amazon Prime at a reasonable cost.
@IngridHbn It makes me want to hear the Nichols and May dentist sketch again. The lighting...
@sunumbral never heard of that one, what's it about?

@IngridHbn It's kind of a spoof of the film, set to Rachmaninoff, with a dentist and patient
