Here I thought I could just relax with some chill pinball but, alas, Zen Studios has also sunk low enough to capture player data to train AI (among other uses). Here is a snippet from their Feb 2026 updated EULA. Yes, you have to accept it to play either Pinball FX (the current one) or Pinball FX Classic (the original one from 2017) on Steam.

So that means I won't be playing Pinball FX or FX Classic on Steam anymore. However; Pinball FX2 still uses the original EULA since it was delisted from Steam years ago and they can't update that too with this garbage.

#PinballFX #Steam #pinball

This also applies to the Pinball FX Classic VR game that I never bought which is still on Steam.

@sudaksis "AI-generated communications are considered official Zen Studios communications for the purposes of these Terms."

Somebody with the right frame of mind could do the funniest things with this.

@sudaksis If you want tracking free #VirtualPinball and are willing to accept a learning curve than Visual Pinball X could be your friend.

The simulator is open source and run on almost every platform (though most tutorials reference windows) and there’s tons of freeware tables with almost everything between 1970 and 2000 covered.

I’ve built a 2 screen mini cab running Linux with it, but you can also just slab it on your desktop.

@boink That sounds familiar as I think someone mentioned it last time I talked about Pinball FX. Gotta look into that one
