Can you imagine a worse computer to use to demonstrate a 7-CDROM changer drive?

Picture an Atari Falcon user whose life has been made easier by having 7 data discs at the ready.

@blakespot You got that backwards, no *BETTER* machine. It's a sweet machine, from the time of the changer & CDs.

If I'd replaced my Mega ST with Falcon instead of a 486 & OS/2 I'd've basically done exactly that. Only had the one CDROM drive on the 486.

@mdhughes Oh, I agree! I have a 4MB 520ST expanded system with dual screens, and I'd love a Falcon.

But -- I'm just saying -- there weren't a lot of ST users getting tennis elbow popping CDROM after CDROM into their ST-connected drive!

@blakespot I was using a 6-disc changer with my Amiga 3000 for a while... on every boot, the system paused while the changer swapped in every disc to read the TOC... it got so annoying that I eventually mothballed it and bought a "normal" drive to replace it. At no point did I find it particularly useful to have 6 CD's worth of data available at any given time.
@blakespot Worse? No this is a delight.

@plaidtron3000 I love his videos and would love a Falcon (I have a 520ST system setup here at the house).

I think an Amiga would also be an amusingly bad example of a good use case for a 7-CDROM changer --- all just becuase both platforms REALLY didn't see users with stacks of CDROMs they were loading one after the other in their day to day.

The angle of my comment may have made it look like I was meaning to disparage the Falcon. Wasn't my intent. :-)
