As part of a friendly competition to use recycled materials to build a piece of terrain, I decided to make as much of this hut from plastic sprue.

Other than the base (a CD sprinkled with dried paint) and the roof (pieces of card), everything is carved from sprue:

The wood,
The metal ladder,
The bottles,
and even the plants.

All sprue for the Sprue Hut.

More views of the Sprue hut.

With some moody lighting.

Inside the wood of the hut still looks fairly fresh, but the outside is sun-bleached grey.

While it is called the Sprue Hut, it's not all plastic sprue.

The tattered remains of an awning is made from some climbing tape.

The base is a CD covered in tissue/PVA. Sprinkled with dried paint/etc. and the shattered pot is select pieces of dried paint.

The roof is sheets of card with putty rivets.

Everything else is sprue.

Moving inside the Sprue Hut, the broken corner is not being overcome with plants (made using a technique I found on the internet).

Further inside we find a table and small bench. A suspicious stain is accompanied by some bottles.

A broken pot or vase lies on the ground.
