"We may be in for another wave this year that exceeds those seen since the end of 2022 ... or not. In any case, it's likely to be milder than either the original or Delta variants.

But as someone with friends who still suffer from long COVID, I'm serious about getting those masks ready. The time to wear them is before everyone else is wearing them."

COVID-19 Update: A new variant makes the rounds, and the 'Lab Leak' theory takes a dive

A recently published scientific paper shows that an often-cited claim of the 'lab leak' theory is simply not true

@joeinwynnewood the time to mask is always. Don't stop just because it's not a known spike. Why did anyone stop?
It's so easy, and indeed useful, to wear a mask on public transport, in shops etc.

Just do that.

@noodlemaz

No argument from me. I mask in public indoor spaces and private ones when there's more than a handful or 2 of people.

It's a pain to mask, but nowhere near as painful being sick with airborne viruses.

@joeinwynnewood I like it for not having to worry about strangers (men) judging my facial expression or telling me to fking smile
And I can make angry-mouth at all the people who piss me off on transport without them knowing.

I get some odd looks sometimes but fuck those people tbh.

Oh and it can help with smells. Lot of that about.
