There was never such a massive issue with parking in normal car parks to the point that ever warranted £100 fines for marginal overstays or infringements. It is largely a valueless money grab that is a shameful disgrace and a stain on our society.

"Overstays" should not be a thing, because all car parks should be (some version of) pay-on-exit. Want to discourage long stays? - just ramp up the legitimate, non-fine, charges for long stays.

Charging fines for "infringements", such as someone parking a fucking great tank across two or even three spaces, is fair enough.

@anon_opin now that they've fired all the wardens and gone to camera based enforcement none of the Chelsea tractors with one person in the parent+child spaces get their comeuppance.
